The nearest international airport for St. Andrews is Edinburgh (EDI). Transcontinental flights are likely to involve a transfer in London. Buses run from Edinburgh airport to the centre of Edinburgh. A taxi from the airport to St. Andrews costs approx £60.00.

We recommend you take the bus from the airport to the centre of Edinburgh, then another bus to St. Andrews. The X60 bus runs from Edinburgh bus station (confusingly called St. Andrew's bus station, Edinburgh) to St. Andrews. The bus takes about 2 hours, and costs approx £5.00 one way.

Travel from the centre of Edinburgh to St. Andrews by train is a bit more complicated. The nearest railway station to St. Andrews is Leuchars, which is 5 miles away. Trains take about 1 hour from Edinburgh Waverley, and cost about £11.00.
